Wong laid out specifics on how the government plans to support families financially. Parents will now receive almost S$70,000, or about $55,150, in direct support for each child, spread out until the child turns 17. That total includes a S$10,000 payment given at birth and another S$10,000 earmarked to help cover the cost of the child’s education later on.
