The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released an official clarification on the evaluation process followed for the 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), amid questions and claims circulating on social media over the assessment of candidates’ answer sheets.
Through a video shared on its official platform, BPSC authorities sought to counter claims based on selected pages of answer booklets and urged viewers to consider the complete answer script and the evaluation process before drawing conclusions.
The video shows physical answer booklets being examined, along with handwritten responses and markings made by evaluators. The commission highlights that answer sheets are assessed according to predetermined standards and norms by qualified, experienced examiners.
BPSC Shows Marked Answer Scripts
The video features pages from General Studies papers, including answers on topics related to the Santhal uprising, Champaran Satyagraha and the Indigo Movement. Examiner markings, including ticks and annotations, can be seen across the answers.
One of the sample answers discusses the exploitation of farmers during the Indigo Movement, including systems that forced cultivators to grow indigo. Another answer deals with the Champaran Satyagraha led by Mahatma Gandhi and its significance in India’s freedom struggle.
The commission appears to use these examples to demonstrate that answers are assessed on the basis of their overall content and relevance rather than individual lines or isolated pages.
The video also carries Hindi text stating that evaluation is conducted according to established criteria by scholars and experienced and qualified examiners.

The BPSC clarification comes after continuing discussions surrounding the 70th CCE and questions raised by aspirants over the examination and its results.
The commission’s latest communication focuses specifically on the evaluation process. It indicates that screenshots or photographs of a few pages of an answer booklet should not be treated as evidence of the complete assessment process.
