Bangladesh ended their 23-year-wait and registered their first-ever win against Australia Down Under on the fourth day of the first Test of the two-match series in Darwin. Bangladesh, who had only managed one win over Australia before the Darwin Test, dominated every session in the fixture to register a famous win. Ricky Ponting has criticised Australia following their defeat and called it “very embarrassing.” Australia were a powerhouse under Ponting’s captaincy and won two back-to-back World Cups in 2003 and 2007. They won 48 out of 77 Tests under him.
