At least one person has been killed and four others wounded in a shooting at a nightclub in Connecticut, the latest in a series of shootings reported across the US over the weekend. Police were called to the SoulBaila nightclub in Hartford at about 01:40 local time on Sunday after reports of gunfire.
Officers found a crowd of about 100 people at the scene, along with an unresponsive person, local media reported. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released. Four other people were wounded.
A man in his 30s was in a critical but stable condition, police said. Two other men, one in his 20s and another in his 30s, were in stable condition, along with an adult woman.
Police believe one gun was used in the shooting.
Hartford Police’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions are investigating. No arrests have been reported.

The shooting came hours after another deadly shooting in Lexington, Kentucky, where one person was killed and four others were wounded on Saturday evening.
Police said at least 13 shots were fired near a busy downtown bar district at about 18:45. A four-year-old child, a 14-year-old and two adults were injured and taken to hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
The victim who died was pronounced dead at hospital. No arrests had been made.
In Chicago, four people were wounded in a separate drive-by shooting on Saturday evening. Police said a car pulled alongside a group walking on a pavement in the Gresham neighbourhood on the city’s South Side at about 19:15. Several people inside the vehicle fired shots before it drove away.
The victims included a 32-year-old woman, a 34-year-old man, a 43-year-old man and another man whose age was not immediately known. Two of the victims were critically injured, according to local media. No arrests have been reported.

The violence followed a shooting at Virginia State University earlier on Saturday that injured five people, including a student.
Police later arrested a suspect, identified as Camron Harris. Authorities said he was not a student at the university and that four of the five victims were also not students.
The university had initially said the shooting involved “multiple suspects”.
The incidents come amid a weekend of shootings in several US cities, leaving multiple people dead and dozens injured.
