Stock Market Weekly Wrap: Sensex, Nifty End Winning Streak As Global Risks Weigh On Equities

India’s benchmark indices broke their two-week winning run on Friday, August 14, as a mix of geopolitical concerns, elevated crude prices and higher global bond yields kept investors cautious. The Sensex closed at 78,009.25, down 71 points or 0.09 per cent, while the Nifty 50 finished at 24,366, shedding 30 points or 0.12 per cent. Broader markets also struggled. The Nifty Midcap 100 declined 0.53 per cent, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 slipped 0.69 per cent.
