When put into this context, it’s not hard to see why Bezos identifies with this painting in particular. The context is pretty transparent, especially given how open, and at times, vitriolic her unacceptance has been – both to the public, and potentially the nicher, old money circles she’s…well, circling. But the very fact that not being ‘liked’ by society, despite literally being at the fiscal zenith of it, is potentially the extent of her problems – or at least that’s what this look relays – feels tone deaf, especially with Amazon worker protests – her husband Jeff Bezos billionaire venture – mushrooming the world over.
