PM E-Drive Scheme Extended Till March 2028; Electric Two-Wheeler Subsidy Capped at Rs 5,000

The PM E-DRIVE scheme has been extended until March 31, 2028, but the maximum incentive for eligible electric two-wheelers has been cut to Rs 5,000. That gives Indian EV buyers more time to access central support, but the upfront benefit is now smaller. Under the revised structure, electric two-wheelers qualify for Rs 2,500 per kWh of battery capacity, subject to the Rs 5,000 cap. The change is important for anyone planning to buy an electric scooter or motorcycle, particularly buyers who had been factoring the earlier Rs 10,000 maximum incentive into their purchase budget.
