The flight was operated by Delhi-based charter company VSR Ventures. It departed from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai and was en route to Baramati, where Pawar was scheduled to attend public meetings for local elections. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) recovered the black box, which sustained intense heat and fire damage. A final investigation report is expected to be submitted by January 2027. The Maharashtra government is now finalising a ₹100-crore overhaul plan for the Baramati airport. The upgrade, managed by the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), will include an ATC tower, a fire station, and runway upgrades to address the lack of essential landing and weather systems.
