Born in 1950 in the village of Rasulpur, Jasbir died of smallpox at the age of three and a half. As he died during the night, his burial was postponed until morning. In Hinduism, young children are traditionally buried rather than cremated. However, his father, Sri Girdhari Lal Jat, noticed that his son, who had been presumed dead, began to stir. Jasbir eventually revived and recovered.
