The strike has been called by the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) and has received support from several medical bodies, including the Indian Medical Association (IMA), BMC MARD, Maharashtra State Resident Doctors Association (MSRDA), Association of State Medical Interns (ASMI), Maharashtra Association of Gazetted Medical Officers (MAGMO) and the Maharashtra State Medical Teachers Association (MSMTA).
