A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Egypt shortly after midnight GMT on Monday, with tremors reported in neighbouring Israel, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The earthquake happened at 3 am Eastern European time about 22 miles northeast of Suez, Egypt, data from the agency showed.
