Its latest renewal, which reopened on June 13, was described as a fresh start for the complex, which had grown into one of the region’s busiest commercial centres following the opening of Taiwan chipmaker TSMC’s factory in Kumamoto in 2024. The mall housed around 200 stores, a cinema and parking for 5,000 vehicles, attracting more than eight million visitors a year.
