In view of the prevailing conditions across the state, the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has decided to issue duplicate copies of pass certificates, admit cards, marksheets, and registration cards related to the HSLC/AHM and HS Final Examinations to flood victims who lost their academic documents. No fee will be charged from them.
Students who wish to obtain duplicate copies of their certificates can apply on the official portals: sebaservices.in for the HSLC/AHM Examination, and ahsec.assam.gov.in for the HS Final Examination.
The board apprised that no police report is required to apply for duplicate certificates. “Instead of a police report, a self-certificate as flood-affected will be uploaded by the applicant on the portal,” the official notice states.
Notably, the fee waiver is being offered as an interim special relief measure for the affected students and other eligible persons.
Death Toll Crosses 70 as Assam Battles Floods
Assam has been battling floods, with the death toll rising to 75, as seven more deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, even though the number of affected people has decreased to 3.32 lakh, officials said on Wednesday, according to PTI.
The state government has increased the ex gratia amount for the families of the deceased to Rs 9 lakh each. The norms to avail of the compensation have also been relaxed.
According to the news agency, the seven districts of Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, Sonitpur, and Kamrup Metropolitan are still reeling under the deluge, affecting 21 revenue circles and 622 villages, the officials said.
ASSEB’s latest move comes as a relief for students in the flood-hit state. Even if they lose their crucial academic documents due to a natural calamity, they can retrieve them through the designated official websites.
