Days after several journalists were assaulted and attacked during the peaceful protests led by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in Kolkata, the Kolkata Police on Monday (July 27) arrested two people in connection with the violence, taking the total number of arrests to 16. Condemning the attack on a journalist, members of the press fraternity marched from the Press Club to Dharmatala on Saturday.
