Every year, thousands of students aspire to study law at India’s National Law Universities. But the Common Law Admission Test is conducted only in English. Once students get in, everything else is also in English, from the classrooms, textbooks, judgments, journals, moot courts and seminars. Even CLAT PG, for those pursuing an LLM, is conducted only in English. Despite years of discussions around making legal education more inclusive, this has not changed.
