Mothers are driving much of this overall shift. Trump’s net rating among mothers now sits at minus 25, with only 37 percent approving of him and 62 percent disapproving, according to a report from Newsweek. That marks a steep decline from July 2025, when his net rating among mothers was already negative at minus 15. Go back to the start of his second term, and mothers were actually slightly positive toward Trump, approving of him 49 percent to 44 percent, a net rating of plus 5.
