Activist Sonam Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali Angmo, has said that her husband will end his hunger strike tomorrow — July 20 — if political leaders meet him and assure him of raising the issue of education accountability in the Monsoon Session, set to commence from Monday. Wangchuk has been on hunger strike since June 28, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak and alleged irregularities in the education system. His protest is part of the Cockroach Janta Party’s agitation, which is taking place at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding the government to sack the education minister.
