Aditya Dhar being a hit machine is news to no one. But his reign as one of the most sought-after directors in the country – especially after the roaring, worldwide success of the Dhurandhar franchise – stems not just from commercial success, but also the fact that he creates cinema which manages to resonate with the masses whilst enthralling them. And then we have actor Yami Gautam. Wife to Dhar, Gautam is well known for her experimental portfolio of roles, most of which fall within the ambit of hard-hitting social commentary. In essence, the two gravitate towards projects that feel rather similar in ethos. In reality, neither’s career has, or potentially ever will, lean on the other. Who is ‘more successful’ between them may be an ambiguous debate, but the thing to really take note of here, is that it simply doesn’t matter. Dhar and Gautam are two whole individuals with booming careers, and are yet unabashedly one unit.
