Zane Navratil and John Cincola Reveal Five Drills Every Pickleball Player Should Practice

The first drill, Slice to Topspin, helps players become more comfortable returning sliced shots. One player hit only slice while the other responds with topspin, forcing players to adjust to different ball trajectories. “One of the reasons I really like this drill is because it forces you into shots that you may not be super comfortable with,” Navratil said. He added that players must adjust their swing to counter the spin. “This drill forces you to hit upwards on those shots. If you don’t brush up a little bit more when your opponent has sliced to you, you’re going to miss in the net.”
