In a hilarious scene, Troy asks why he is tied to the bed, and Nikolai responds, “So you would not move during the surgery.” What begins as a comedic version of Stephen King’s Misery evolves into a buddy comedy as Nikolai tries to sneak Troy out of the country before the KGB realises who he is. Mayday, which is also co-written and produced by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, features Maria Bakalova, Marcin Dorociński and David Morse as part of the ensemble cast. Reynolds is also an executive producer of the action comedy.
