According to Dr. Prof. Jyoti Wadhwa, Principal Lead, Medical & Precision Oncology, Apollo Athenaa Women’s Cancer Centres, a cancer diagnosis does not automatically mean the end of future family plans. “For many young women, a cancer diagnosis raises an immediate and deeply personal concern – ‘Will I still be able to have children?’ While some cancer treatments can affect fertility, it is important to understand that a diagnosis does not necessarily mean the end of future family plans. Today, with timely intervention and advances in oncology, many women can preserve their fertility and go on to have healthy pregnancies after completing cancer treatment,” she said.
