Swadesh Nayak, Secretary of the Shankarpur Fish Trawler Association, said, “Our association’s fishing trawler, ‘Maa Kali,’ left for the deep sea on July 2 with 15 fishermen on board to catch Hilsa fish. It has now been over a week, and there is still no trace of either the trawler or the fishermen. We have informed all the nearby police stations and the concerned authorities about the incident. We sincerely request the government to arrange an extensive search and rescue operation, including aerial surveillance if necessary, so that the missing fishermen can be traced and brought back safely. Their families are extremely worried and are waiting for their safe return.”
