Several parts of Delhi will witness scheduled power cuts on Saturday, July 4, as BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) carries out maintenance and network upgradation work across its distribution areas.
According to the power discom, the temporary outages are planned to facilitate transformer upgrades, LT circuit maintenance, network improvements and repair of faulty equipment.
Areas in Hauz Khas, Janakpuri, Palam, Mohan Garden, Dwarka, Nangloi and Sarita Vihar will be affected at different times during the day.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Hauz Khas will face a scheduled outage from 11:07 am to 1:07 pm due to damage to the RMU coupling bus bar. Parts of South Extension-II will also experience a brief power cut between 2:08 pm and 2:23 pm because of a defect in the RMU operation mechanism.
In Janakpuri, electricity supply will remain affected in Block J-8, Rajouri Garden Extension, from 12 pm to 2 pm for LT circuit maintenance. Power cuts are also scheduled in Block C1 from 11:07 am to 12:37 pm and Block C-2C from 11 am to 12:30 pm due to LT maintenance work.
In Palam, outages have been planned in Raj Nagar Extension, Vijay Enclave and Mangalpuri-II between 11 am and 12:30 pm for transformer network upgradation and new LTAB circuit laying.
Residents of Block S in Mohan Garden, Razapur Khurd, will face a power cut from 11 am to 2 pm as part of transformer network upgradation.
In Dwarka, Suraj Vihar will witness a scheduled outage from 10:07 am to 12:07 pm for network upgradation work.
In Nangloi, power supply will remain disrupted from 10 am to 1 pm in DDA Park, Nihal Vihar, Adhyapak Nagar and Block B, Jawalapuri, Paschim Vihar due to transformer network upgradation.
Meanwhile, residents of Mithapur in the Sarita Vihar division may experience a power cut from 11 am to 1 pm because of a burnt transformer LT lead.
BRPL has advised consumers in the affected areas to plan their day accordingly, as electricity supply will remain temporarily suspended during the scheduled maintenance work.
