The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Rajnath Singh, on Friday (July 3, 2026), approved ₹52,000 crore worth of defence procurements to strengthen India’s military capabilities across the Indian Army, Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force with advanced missiles, drones and surveillance systems. The Defence Acquisition Council is the top body of the Ministry of Defence, which formulates policies and approves capital acquisition.
