India vs Australia HIGHLIGHTS, Women’s T20 World Cup 2026:​ India were knocked out of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 after they were defeated by Australia by a margin of 5 wickets.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, India powered their way to 170/4 in their 20 overs. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led the charge with an explosive, unbeaten 56 off 27 balls (including 3 consecutive sixes in the final over). Smriti Mandhana (38 off 37), Shafali Verma (34 off 26), and Jemimah Rodrigues (34 off 28) also contributed heavily. Sophie Molineux was the pick of the bowlers for Australia, claiming 2 wickets.

India started their defence on a strong note as they took the wicket of Georgia Voll in the very second ball of the tournament. However, Phoebe Litchfield and Beth Mooney steadied the ship with a half-century stand. India then took their wickets in quick succession courtesy Shree Charani and Deepti Sharma. After that, Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner took the game away from India with a century stand. Both batters scored half-centuries.

This was the highest run-chase ever achieved in the history of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
