Nebraska and South Dakota

Advisories begin Sunday afternoon across Nebraska, with eastern and southeastern counties under watch through Tuesday evening. Cedar and Knox counties face a shorter advisory ending Sunday night. In southeast South Dakota, most advisories run through Monday evening, though Bon Homme, Hanson, Hutchinson and McCook counties see a one-day advisory ending Sunday. Heat index values across both states are expected to reach 103 to 105°F, with Douglas and Sarpy counties in Nebraska, plus nearby Iowa counties, under an Extreme Heat Watch where values may reach 108°F.
