Reacting to remarks made by NCP MLA Sana Malik, Owaisi said it was for her party to respond, as the NCP is an NDA ally. He alleged that under the guise of implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), governments in Uttarakhand, Gujarat and Assam are attempting to impose Hindu marriage and divorce laws on followers of other religions, which he said violates Article 25 of the Constitution.
