The Maharashtra government is considering making it mandatory to print the birth dates of both the bride and groom on wedding invitation cards as part of efforts to curb child marriages. Women and Child Welfare Minister Aditi Tatkare informed the Assembly that the proposal, recommended by the State Child Rights Commission, is currently under examination.
