ugc-net june 2026: nta to hold re-exam for candidates affected by technical glitch at jalandhar centre

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for candidates who were unable to appear for or complete the UGC-NET June 2026 examination due to technical issues at a test centre in Jalandhar, Punjab.

In an official notice, the agency said it had been informed by the examination conducting agency about technical difficulties experienced at the CT Group of Institutions Examination Centre, Jalandhar, during the UGC-NET June 2026 examination held on June 22.

According to NTA, the disruption affected candidates scheduled to appear in Shift-I. Some candidates, despite reporting to the examination centre on time, could not take the test or were unable to complete it because of the technical problems encountered during the examination process.

Acknowledging the inconvenience caused to students, the agency expressed regret and said that affected candidates would be given another opportunity to appear for the UGC NET June 2026 exam. The re-test has been scheduled for Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM and will be conducted at the same examination centre.

“For those candidates of Shift-I, who, despite being present at the centre, could not take or complete the examination, for no fault of their own, the National Testing Agency expresses regret for the inconvenience caused,” the notice stated.

The agency clarified that only those candidates who were affected by the technical issues at the CT Group of Institutions Examination Centre and could not complete the examination will be eligible to appear in the re-test. Further details regarding the examination, including reporting time and other instructions, will be communicated through revised admit cards.
