The National Testing Agency (NTA) today conducted the re-examination for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026. The exam was held on June 21 from 2 pm to 5:15 pm (IST) in pen-and-paper mode. Candidates with disabilities (PwD/PwBD) eligible for compensatory time will be permitted to write the examination up to 6:20 pm.

In a post-exam press release, NTA stated that the re-exam was conducted with the support of nearly seven lakh personnel and several central ministries, security agencies and state governments across the country.
NTA thanked Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Posts, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Defence and the Indian Air Force. The testing agency also thanked public sector banks including SBI, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB) and UCO Bank also assisted in the exercise.
What next?
Now that the exam has concluded, the testing agency will now release the provisional answer key for the re-NEET in a few days. This answer key will list the correct option for every question. Students will be given a couple of days to raise objections against the given answer key.
Once the window is closed, a team of experts will assess the objections raised and then prepare a final answer key accordingly. The final scorecards for NEET UG 2026 will be prepared on the basis of the final answer key. The final result for NEET UG 2026 is expected to release within a month.
