After the final whistle at BC Place, tensions between the two teams erupted, leading to controversy surrounding Canada’s historic FIFA World Cup 2026 triumph over Qatar. The hosts defeated Qatar 6-0 to win their first FIFA World Cup march, putting on one of the most impressive displays of the competition. Cyle Larin and Nathan Saliba also contributed to the scoring, but Jonathan David led the way with an incredible hat-trick. Jacob Shaffelburg scored an own goal to give Canada their sixth goal.
