Netflix has become the unofficial home of author Harlan Coben’s twisty mysteries. His latest, I Will Find You, is out now; but here are some more bingeable limited series that viewers can add to their watchlists.
I Will Find You
Avatar star Sam Worthington plays distraught father David Burroughs, who has been wrongfully convicted of murdering his young son. While he is behind bars, his sister-in-law Rachel (Britt Lower) shares proof that his son could be alive. It sets David off a quest to find the truth and reunite his family. This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia also stars in the twisty thriller now streaming on Netflix.
Fool Me Once
The eight-part British series starring Michelle Keegan was the streamer’s most watched series when it debuted on New Year’s Day 2024 with 238 million hours watched. Keegan is a former military pilot named Maya who loses her sister and husband in the same year. Maya fears she might be losing her mind after she sees her late husband, Joe (Richard Armitage), with their child on the nanny cam and decides to investigate.
Safe
Dexter star Michael C. Hall, who is a widower and single father, Tom Delaney, has a difficult relationship with his daughter Jenny (Amy James-Kelly), especially after he begins dating again. But when Jenny and her boyfriend go missing, Tom Delaney realises that something is not right about their small British suburb. The limited series has eight episodes.
Run Away
The eight-part series is adapted from Coben’s 2019 book in which a couple Simon (James Nesbitt) and Ingrid (Minnie Driver), are trying to track down their drug addict daughter Paige Greene (Ellie de Lange) after she falls under the influence of her boyfriend. As they search for Paige, they go down a dangerous path with secrets that could tear their family apart. Ruth Jones, Amy Gledhill, Alfred Enoch and Thomas Flynn also star.
The Stranger
The 2020 British series features Thunderbolts* actress Hannah John-Kamen as the ‘stranger’ in the baseball cap, who drops shocking secrets to people. After approaching Adam Price (Richard Armitage) with news about his children, he and his wife Corinne (Dervla Kirwan) row and she disappears. As others in the same town are targeted, what is the main mission of the Stranger?
Missing You
Slow Horses actress Rosalind Eleazar plays Detective Kat Donovan, who finds photos of her missing fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters) on a dating app. As she tries to find out why he left, it leads her down a path to find some shocking secrets about her late father Clint (Lenny Henry). Kat is also investigating the disappearances of several people who have gone missing after using a dating app. The limited series has only five episodes.
Stay Close
The 2021 British series features Richard Armitage, James Nesbitt and Cush Jumbo as three seemingly random people who are connected by an unsolved case. How are they all linked to the missing persons case from 17 years ago? The backstories of the photographer, police detective and single mother about to get married are revealed, leading to a twisted connection between them.
Gone for Good
Coben’s work has also been translated into other languages, including Polish and Spanish. This five-part French series adapts an early novel of the author. A decade ago, Guillaume Lucchesi (Finnegan Oldfield) witnessed his girlfriend and older brother being murdered. Now as he is about to propose Judith (Nailia Harzoune), she disappears, leaving Guillaume to figure out her past and why she left.
