If word-of-mouth is genuinely positive, a film can do the unthinkable at the box office. Hollywood saw it happen with Curry Barker’s Obsession and now Bollywood is witnessing a similar magic with Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga. The partition drama arrived in theatres on June 12 with decent hype but took a low opening of Rs 1.15 crore, something you don’t expect from an Imtiaz Ali film. But, as days went by and the positive word spread, Main Vaapas Aaunga recorded better numbers from Monday to Thursday than its opening day, something only an Imtiaz Ali film could pull off!
