Shrek 5 marks the franchise’s first mainline installment in nearly two decades. The previous chapter, Shrek Forever After, was released in 2010 and was initially promoted as the final film in the saga. Since then, the universe has expanded through successful spin-offs, including Puss in Boots (2011) and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022), which helped reignite interest in the franchise. Returning to lend their voices are Mike Myers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona and Eddie Murphy as Donkey.
