In a shocking incident from Tamil Nadu, a 3-year-old girl, the daughter of a migrant worker couple, was allegedly sexually assaulted and thrown into a bush in Gummidipoondi, Thiruvallur.
According to officials, the child went missing around 3 PM on Sunday (June 14). After initial searches failed, her parents filed a police complaint.
However, she was later found inside a nearby bush and was first admitted to Gummidipoondi Government Hospital before being shifted to Stanley Government Hospital in Chennai for advanced treatment.
The child has succumbed to her injuries.
A 19-year-old man from Bihar has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The victim’s parents work at a steel company in Gummidipoondi SIPCOT Industrial Estate, and the accused was employed at the same firm. According to the officials, he allegedly lured the child to a secluded spot under the pretext of buying her snacks before committing the assault.
Further investigations are underway.
