AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi launched a sharp attack on US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing them of destabilising the world and deepening global crises.
“Trump and Netanyahu are responsible for the crisis in the world. These are two people who are trying to disturb global peace. People across countries are facing economic hardships because of their actions,” Owaisi said.
Calling on the Centre to take a stronger stand, Owaisi urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to openly criticise Israel. “I request the Prime Minister to call out Israel for what it is doing,” he said.
Owaisi also questioned the Centre’s response to the deaths of three Indian nationals in the recent attack on a commercial vessel near Oman. “Why is the Prime Minister not condemning the deaths of three Indians?” he asked.
Referring to the attack on the ship, Owaisi said the United States had no authority to target civilian vessels. “The US cannot attack any ship. Whatever the US and Netanyahu are doing is illegal. The people on the ship were pleading for help,” he said.
Describing Trump as “a threat to the world,” Owaisi added that neither the US nor Israel had any right to carry out such actions. He also criticised the government’s diplomatic response, saying merely conveying displeasure to a US official was inadequate.
“We should thank the Omani government for helping our people,” he said.
Meeting With Telangana CEO
Owaisi said AIMIM leaders met the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer and submitted a representation regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls scheduled to begin on June 25.
According to Owaisi, officials informed them that the 2026 voter list would be the basis for the exercise, and voters may be required to furnish details linked to the 2002 electoral rolls.
On TMC Split
Commenting on the political developments in West Bengal, Owaisi blamed corruption, poor governance and the Trinamool Congress’ alleged neglect of Muslims for its electoral setbacks.
“Mamata Banerjee lost because of corruption, misgovernance and indifference towards Muslims. It has not even been a month since the defeat, and MLAs are already shifting sides. It is a very sad state of affairs,” he said.
