Shreyas Iyer is set to create history and he is only 23 runs away from achieving a huge milestone for India. Iyer, who has 2977 runs in 70 innings, is only 23 runs away from the 3000-run mark. Should he score 23 runs in the series opener against Afghanistan on Saturday (June 13), he will become the quickest Indian to score 3000 ODI runs. Presently, the record belongs to Shikhar Dhawan. The former India opener breached the 3000-run mark in 72 innings. Should Iyer take two innings to score 23 runs, he will become the joint-fastest batter along with Dhawan.
