Sreeja’s personal life has often unfolded under spotlight and criticism. At the age of 19 in 2007, she eloped with her then-boyfriend Shirish Bharadwaj, marrying him in an Arya Samaj ceremony in Hyderabad. Their relationship made its way to the headlines given that she hails from the influential Konidela family. The couple later welcomed a daughter, Nivrithi, in 2008. However, the marriage faced difficulties, and by 2011, Sreeja filed a dowry harassment case against Shirish and his family. The couple eventually separated, with their divorce finalised in 2014.
