On Friday, at the time of closing, markets ended lower even after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) announced to keep the repo rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent. At Friday close, Sensex fell 116.67 points, or 0.16%, at 74,243.34, while Nifty settled 49.85 points, or 0.21%, lower at 23,366.70.
