More than 20 boats were destroyed and at least two people were injured after a major fire swept through a fishing port in the Ecuadorian city of Manta, authorities and local media reported. The blaze broke out on Saturday at one of the country’s busiest fishing hubs, with witnesses reporting that the fire started on a single vessel before spreading rapidly to neighbouring boats.
