India have made their return to international cricket after the end of IPL 2026, as they are currently taking on Afghanistan in a one-off Test match at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. At the end of Day 1, India stamped their authority with the bat, as they put on 385/4. One of the star performers of the day for India was KL Rahul who returned to open the batting with Yashasvi Jaiswal. He smashed his 12th Test century, and managed to create a unique record going past the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
