A shocking case of alleged domestic abuse has emerged from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, where a woman was rescued after being confined inside a toilet in her in-laws’ home for nearly 10 months. The victim, Sakshi, was allegedly subjected to severe physical torture, given little food, and separated from her newborn twins, PTI reported. Her ordeal came to light when her father, accompanied by local panchayat representatives, gained access to the house and rescued her. Police have registered an FIR against her husband and in-laws following a complaint by the victim’s family.
