Chase Bank Bakersfield Bomb Threat: Police Respond to Reported Hostage Situation

A hostage situation at a bank building in Bakersfield, California, ended early on Wednesday after a standoff lasting more than 15 hours, with authorities confirming that all hostages were released unharmed and the suspect died at the scene. Police said the incident concluded at about 04:00 local time after a law enforcement shooting at the multi-storey building, which houses a Chase bank branch and a school district office in the Kern County city, around 100 miles north of Los Angeles.
