Rajat Patidar Honours Chinnaswamy Stampede Victims After RCB Defend IPL Crown

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar dedicated RCB’s second IPL title to the stampede victims. RCB couldn’t celebrate the maiden IPL title last year after 11 people lost their lives during the tragic stampede at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during RCB’s victory parade, turning joy into distress and agony. Throughout IPL 2026, RCB made several efforts to honour the victims. Ahead of the tournament opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the team observed a minute’s silence and also played wearing black armbands. RCB also trained wearing jersey number 11, honouring the people who lost their lives in the tragic stampede. The franchise also announced that 11 seats at the Chinnaswamy Stadium would remain vacant throughout the season as a mark of respect.
