According to media reports, Hardik was dissatisfied with MI’s senior players. The two-time T20 World Cup winner was immensely hurt by senior players who, while playing T20Is for India under their leadership, demanded 100% from him but did not do the same while he was captain of MI. Additionally, Hardik informed the team’s upper management of his intention to go in the middle of the season once it became certain that the five-time champions would not make it to the playoffs. The player is reportedly ‘mentally stressed’, and he has struggled to steer the team, which is moving in different directions with teammates disagreeing with him.
