Vinesh Phogat Asian Games Trials Highlights: Vinesh Phogat’s journey came to an abrupt halt on Saturday when the wrestler was unable to earn a spot in the 2026 Asian Games. The 31-year-old did not qualify for the next Games after losing to Meenakshi Goyat in the 53kg event semifinals. Vinesh was defeated 4-6. Vinesh had to fight the odds and other obstacles, thus the entire trial on Saturday was a tumultuous experience. At the Indira Gandhi International Stadium, her quarterfinal match descended into a vicious altercation between coaches and officials from the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
