Rising young star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi extended his record-breaking streak with bat when he walked out against the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 in New Chandigarh. With the most runs in the Powerplay in a single tournament, the Rajasthan Royals opener added yet another feather to his crown. This season, Sooryavanshi has surpassed 700-run mark. On Friday night, he scored 31 off 17 deliveries in the Powerplay against GT. As a result, he set a new record for the most Powerplay runs in an IPL edition with 521 runs in the first six overs of the 2026 season. He exceeded David Warner’s 467 runs from 2016 in the process.
