Meanwhile, Mukul made his Bollywood debut in 1996 with Dastak, where he played ACP Rohit Malhotra alongside Sushmita Sen, who was also making her acting debut after winning Miss Universe 1994. Following this, Mukul went on to feature in several notable films including Qila, Wajood, Mere Do Anmol Ratan, Kohram and Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao, gradually establishing himself as a familiar face in Hindi cinema.
