Delhi News LIVE: Medical Team Leave for Bhopal to Conduct Second Autopsy of Twisha Sharma's Body

Nashik Police have filed the first chargesheet in the controversial IT company case linked to allegations of sexual harassment, religious coercion and attempts of forced conversion inside a multinational firm based in Nashik. The chargesheet, running into nearly 1500 pages, has been submitted before the Additional Sessions and Special Court in Nashik Road.

According to police officials, a total of nine FIRs were registered at Deolali Camp and Mumbai Naka police stations after the victim approached the police with serious allegations of molestation, sexual abuse at the workplace, attempts to force religious conversion and hurting of religious sentiments. Considering the sensitive nature of the case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed on the instructions of senior police officials to probe all connected complaints.

In the first case registered at Deolali Camp Police Station under CR No. 156/26, the chargesheet has been filed against four accused — Danish Ejaz Sheikh, Tausif Bilal Attar, Nida Ejaz Khan and Mateen Majid Patel. They have been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with relevant provisions of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

During the investigation, the SIT allegedly found evidence suggesting that the accused acted as part of a planned criminal conspiracy. Police sources said several digital and documentary evidences have been attached with the chargesheet, including mobile phone data, WhatsApp chats, screenshots, seized email trails and other electronic records.

Investigators have also claimed to have recovered documents allegedly linked to efforts made for changing the victim’s identity and name. Apart from this, statements of 17 witnesses were recorded before a Judicial Magistrate under Section 183 of BNSS.

The chargesheet also includes medical examination reports of the victim and accused, spot panchanama reports, bank statements, caste certificates, documents linked to alleged financial fraud, identification parade records and details of vehicles allegedly used in the crime.

Police officials said that although the primary chargesheet has now been filed based on available evidence, the investigation is still underway. Further evidence is being collected and a supplementary chargesheet may also be filed later under Section 193(9) of BNSS.

Meanwhile, police are continuing investigation in the remaining eight FIRs registered at Mumbai Naka Police Station and are expected to file chargesheets in those cases within the prescribed time limit. Sources also confirmed that bail pleas filed by the accused in all related cases have been rejected by the court so far.
