US Southern Command confirmed the arrival of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group on Wednesday, naming the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, its carrier air wing, the guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley and the naval fuel ship USNS Patuxent as part of the deployment.
